Timberwolves Advance to the NBA Finals

The Minnesota Timberwolves produced a historic 20-point comeback to eliminate the defending champion Denver Nuggets 98-90 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday night. The win sends the Timberwolves to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.

The Nuggets led by 16 points with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game, but the Timberwolves rallied behind a 3-pointer from Anthony Edwards and a pair of free throws from D'Angelo Russell to cut the lead to 82-77 with 6:30 remaining. The Nuggets never led again.

Edwards finished with a team-high 21 points, while Russell added 19 points and 10 rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns also had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic, who had 22 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists. Jamal Murray added 18 points, while Aaron Gordon had 16 points.

The Timberwolves will now face the Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. Game 1 of the series is scheduled for Tuesday night in Miami.
