Zagreb, Croatia - Croatia has secured a playoff spot for the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament after defeating Turkey 2-0 in their final group stage match. The victory puts them level on points with Wales at the top of Group D but with an inferior goal difference, resulting in a second-place finish.
Despite two disappointing losses against Turkey and Wales earlier in the campaign, Croatia bounced back with a strong performance in their final match. Goals from Andrej Kramaric and Lovro Majer sealed the victory and secured their place in the playoffs.
Croatia will now face one of the other second-placed teams in the playoffs, with the draw to be held in December. The winners of the playoffs will join the 20 teams that have already qualified for the tournament.
The Euro 2024 tournament will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. Croatia will be hoping to improve on their performance at the 2020 tournament, where they reached the round of 16.
